Six types of barley are used to create this complexed and delicious beer. Not your typical “burnt and bitter” stout, you’ll find Full Moon to be smooth, creamy and loaded with flavor.

a pretty basic stout here, well enough made, but real generic to me, really not a whole lot going on, as much as its a decent stout, i think the beer here is better than it gets credit for being, but its stuff like this that seems a little uninspired, and maybe keeps them under the radar a bit. roasty and black, light smoke and raisin, a touch of english type astringency in here, but a stout we have all tasted hundreds of times before. i guess i like it being a little stronger for winter, and i like that it has a little bit of a fermentation profile to it. its on the dry side too which makes it a nice food beer, especially with their delicious fries in here, wow i love those things! a touch thin in body, balanced but mildly bitter from the roast, and overall good but very plain and samey as they go. a lot of their stuff is kind of old school, and i like that, but it works better with some recipes than others, and this isnt one of their best in my opinion. still, this place remains one of my local favorites, always good food and service, mellow vibes, fair prices.

edit: increasing scores a bit after having a pint of this in november of 2024, seems bigger and smoother now than i remember, with more grain depth, a lovely texture from the nitro pour, and with some soft sweetness on the back end extending it beautifully. this presents now as one of their better and more refined beers overall, and they seem to have really improved it. still old school and classic, just dialed in a bit better now and the nitro is perfect. awesome cold weather pint.

Nitro tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with ruby glow, velvety smooth creamy head. Body not overly thick and chewy, but fairly slick. Roasty flavor without being overly bitter. Appearance and feel go a Iong way with this brew

Courtesy of Its a Pub Night:

Pours a vivid pitch black with small, tight head. Light lacing. biscuity aroma, laced with a touch of citrus and apple. Excellent yeasty palate, with just a hint of walnuts and shoe leather. Creamy mouthfeel and slightly dry finish.

A- 1 finger fluffy tan head crowns a near black, deep brown brew. Thin tan film for lacing, good retent

S- sweet cream, roasted malts, chocolate malts

T- roasted malts, unsweetened chocolate, almonds, coffee, hints of burnt malts, roasted coffee aftertaste

M- creamy full bodied stout with a sticky finish and after

D- decently complex and very tasty stout. Its a shame that it could only be found at the brewpub, this is a fantastic American stout, don't miss it if you have the chance to get it
