Draft at brewpub. Dark golden pour with lasting creamy white head. Looks and feels like nitro. Robust malty aroma and taste. Creamy, caramel, brown bread.

solid little red ale here, nice for the saint pattys day season, and even though this isnt irish per se, it has a little something old school to the ferment that approximates it decently well, and its got that kilned richness to it without being sweet, so it plays in that space pretty well, intentional or not. lighter for the style, more copper than amber or redder than that, frothy foamy almost inch of sudsy white head. it smells somewhat minimal, dry for being malt forward, very lightly hopped but slightly herbal there, and with some toasted earthy quality, approachable and easy, nice for this time of year, which feels more like winter than spring still here. the flavor is more robust, nutty up front with light honey sweetness, a soft bready yeastiness running through it, and a faster than anticipated finish. its smooth and easy down, a little safe and kind of plain, but well made, and i like the yeast in it, makes it old worldy to me. lighter medium body, fine carbonation, and nice with the amazing clams on the menu here. this place is well under the radar, but solid beers and expert food every time in. good to see a few new beers on their menu on this recent visit too!
