NCSapiens from Indiana
3.49/5 rDev +3.6%
look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.5
L- dark black. Light head that quickly dissipated with little retention and no lacing.
S- cocoa and chocolate malt.
T- notes of chocolate, cocoa, toasty malts. Not complex, full flavored or balanced. Not nearly as chocolatey as I was hoping for. Ok for washing down food and pairs well with heavy, salty bar food. Aftertaste not especially pleasant.
F- watery, not much body, little carbination. Like a 2 day old coke.
O- 3rd circle is ok, but not great. On par with many other st. Joseph beers I’ve had. Sessionable and easy to drink with low ABV. I probably won’t order this again unless there are no other craft options.
