Picked up a single of this in Steven’s Point WI because it says rye & honey on the label. Like a movie with both Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez, that can’t be bad. 16 oz. can.
The pour is roughly the color of clover honey, with fast-fading visible carbonation. The nose is sweet, sweet honey along with some grains. Simple.
Bee’s Knees is a phrase I associate with an old, & very annoying, friend. This beer walks the same path. There’s a nice sweetness to the honey, ancient grains, with an aftertaste of slightly citrus hops with a dash of bitterness. The aftertaste is dank hops that isn’t terribly pleasant & veers just short of tasting like water filtered from a beaver pond. Mouthfeel is velvety soft. I could have done with 12 ounces, or 8.
Nothing distinctive, no hint of rye, & with an aftertaste that’s less than scintillating. Nearly mediocre.
