Not much hazy. More of a creamed lager. Hops very light showing. On tap at Birentenu. Quaffable but not up to style. New tap but seemed same as spiced lager.

Golden pour with an initially nice head. Malty citrus and flowery nose.
Refreshing taste first, but watery, boozy malt on the finish. In between there is some hoppy bitterness but none of this is convincing.
Not much upside here, aside from the artwork.

Poured from 330mL can into a tall kitchen glass. Best by 3/14/24.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Not bad.
Smell: quite malty; sweet, earthy, citrusy, and just a little bit sour. Not terrible, but that sour element has me worried.
Taste: huh. Sweet malt, with earthy, floral notes. That "sour" thing in the aroma is still here, but it's more like an intense floral character. Odd. Not bad, per se, but odd.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: not the worst IPA out there; not the best.

Gentle Bastard? wonder if it is a pun on the great Arrogant Bastard? Hoppy smells start only after a while when it warms up quite a bit, as well as the taste - first you only feel the sweetness of the malts (pale ale, maris otter, biscuit, cara pils, wheat, crystal), American hops come only later (Columbus, Mosaic, Simcoe, Amarillo). Somewhat subtle, almost like a pale ale but still it is like an IPA in power saving mode. Something between a pale ale and an IPA?
Smooth overall with very low carbonation, easy and pleasing to drink with some tropical flavor in it, medium mild sweet bitterness in the end. Not bad but instead of a Gentle Bastard I prefer the Arrogant, definitely.
