Poured from 330mL can into a tall kitchen glass. Best by 10/3/23. Horizont calls this a "breakfast stout".
Appearance: rich, dark amber-brown hue with a clear body and a thick finger of frothy tan foam. While this is a decent-looking beer, I would be hard-pressed to say it looks like a "stout".
Smell: sweet aroma of molasses and coffee. There are cacao nibs in this beer, too, although I feel like they are indistinguishable from typical chocolate malt aromas. Not bad, though rather sweet.
Taste: less sweet than the aroma suggested, which I like. Plenty of coffee, and there's some caramel character underneath that reminds me more of a brown ale than a stout. Not bad, but again, hard to call it a stout.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation; it's not bad, but it's not as full-bodied as I want a beer like this to be.
Overall: this beer is fine, but perhaps a bit underwhelming.
