Many of you loved our Tales From Canada beer, so we decided to continue our tale from the world of sparkling Hazy IPAs:

The protagonist of our story is none other than DOLCITA, the new hop that will be the talk of conferences, professional groups and every brewer explaining why it is a “game changer” next year.

You can taste it with us now, as this will be the first domestic chapter of Dolcita.

Poured from 440mL can into my Bierwerk Züri becher. Best by 2/1/27.

Appearance: medium yellow hue with a moderate-to-heavy haze and a thick head of frothy ivory foam atop.

Smell: sweet malt with a very tropical pineapple-and-passionfruit forward aroma. It's pretty good, although not mega rich.

Taste: quite sweet, even more so than hinted at by the aroma, with more of that pineapple character. There's also a slightly sharp element here to the hops that I don't entirely love; I've detected that in a lot of central European IPAs I feel like. That said, there is kind of a compelling tropical undertone here that I do quite like.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer isn't exactly perfect in my book, but it has enough interesting and compelling qualities to cause me to like it.
