The colour is medium brown; the pale beige foam forms a three finger high foam that slowly dissolves into a fine airy head with fine lacing.
The smell is somewhat roasted, dry with notes of oat cookies and a hint of chocolate. Interesting, but quite unbalanced.
The taste is malty and a bit roasted with a note of pumpernickel. There body is weak as the taste develops into a malty flavour with some sweetness, notes of nuts, and cocoa and toasted bread. The mild bitter notes got a slight metallic touch. The flavours just dont fit together.
The carbonation is on the milder side of the scale with small bubbles.
According to the can, the brewer has used Pilsener, Münchner and Caramünchner malt and Perle, Saaz and Magnum hops. Maybe that was too much for them?
