A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a clear light orange topped by a dnese and slightly rocky finger and a half of white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of soft oak, creamy wheat, yumberry, and some nice sourness in the back end.
T: Taste is nice and tart up front leaning toward lemony sour, nice creamy wheat note, with some fairly neutral oak that adds a little more sweetness, yumberry comes in as well to balance the tartness. On the swallow there's more sourness, yumberry, creamy wheat, and oak with some lingering lemony sourness that fades slowly to finish things off.
M: This beer has a fairly light body but it isn't watery. Carbonation is effervescent without being prickly while the beer has a drying finish due to the acidity.
O: Overall this is a really nice beer. It has some nice flavors going on as well as a decent amount of complexity for the ABV. Definitely a nice one to drink over the summer but it tastes pretty good during the winter too. I'd like to see this one come back.

Holy moly, I've had this beer several times both on draft and in the bottle, yet to review. Let's get this banger done. Might be my favorite of the series, already re-upped on the order before.
Pours a color approaching light amber, impressive 1/3" white head. Mad smack of sourness that is above the preferred style guideline, its like a wild ale blended with a berliner, but I try not and think about what has been lost without Hottenroth in the mix anymore. The Yumberry is quite cool, and it gives off a mixed aroma of berries (black, blue, rasp and otherwise.
Taste reveals yumberry is a cool fruit, like a blend of strawberry, blackberry and cranberry I'd say. The sourness is jacked up, but the unique fruit profile tempers it a bit. Carbonation is high, but non problematic, just let'er chill for a minute or two after you open 'er up. Body is still light, even if bigger than traditional standards, again, non problematic. The sweetness of the fruit really helps this approach more balance. Mild feels of oak and wheat in a supporting role. Might turn off those with finnicky acidic or sour abilities, you know, the hipster has to eat specialty food guy, but other than that, this is a really fun beer to jam out to in the summertime.

750ml bottle, yet another fruited-up Yankee-made version of the style. What the hell is a 'yumberry'? Sounds like something off of South Park.
This beer pours a clear, bright pale copper amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, somewhat rocky, and bubbly dirty white head, which leaves absolutely zilch in the way of lace anywhere near the glass as it quickly sinks away.
It smells of some generic mixed tart black fruitiness, bready and doughy caramel malt, a touch of earthy yeastiness, subtle funky notes, those cheap vanilla cookies, and a hint of citrusy and green hop bitterness. The taste is uber-sour muddled dark fruit (yumberry? sure, why the fuck not?), gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser crackery wheatiness, further indistinct tart citrus esters, a suggestion of spoiled milk, and more weak-ass leafy, floral and musty verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is quite aggressive in its forward-thinking frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and not all that smooth, for, well, all the reasons I have just recently elucidated here, for starters. It finishes quite dry, the overarching fruity tartness really striving to be the only game in this town.
Overall, this is a fairly agreeable tart and fruity 'old-school' brew, the emphasis definitely on the former. Once again, I have no freaking idea what a yumberry is (my Google isn't broken, but my will to use it certainly is, FWIW), so it just comes across as a dark fruity offset to all that extracted acetic acid floating around my molars, as such.

750mL bottle acquired through The Bruery's Society. Bottled 6/16/16. Served in a Bruery snifter.
Pours a clear, muted peach hue with two and a half fingers of fluffy white head. The froth dissipates quickly to nothing but a quick swirl revives a narrow, broken halo yet no lacing is left behind.
Smells of tart fruit, soured wheat and wet wood.
Tastes of strongly tart berries, an almost lactic sour twinge, wet oak and old wheat grain. Despite the slight puckering factor this goes down quite easily.
Light body with mildly tingling carbonation. Aftertaste of sour berries and wet oak.
I'm liking this Frucht series. The Bruery has done a fine job putting those foeders to work. Each release has that same strong sour but quenching base with hints of oak and featuring different delicious fruits.

split with the wife, perfect beer for a weeknight
into a bruery tulip
looks pretty good, was expecting pink but it's yellow. looks good tho nice fluffy head
aroma has the sour notes coming thru great. much more sour than hottenroth that's for sure. real nice fruit. haven't had a yumberry so it's hard to tell how it comes through but it's definitly nice
flavor is a fantastic balance of fruit sweetness and sour tartness. berliner base definitly comes through in the finish, it's a quality i don't really like in this style but it's easy to overlook with all that fruit and sourness.
body is good, definitly on the thicker side for the style, well carbed
overall i really didnt know what to expect, but this is great! definitly looking forward to the rest of the series and drinking this during the hot summer days

Bottle pour at The Bruery in Placentia, CA.
This one pours a light amber color, with a small fizzy head and a little bit of lacing.
This one smells quite fruity and quite sour. I don't know what a Yumberry is, or what aromas and flavors I should expect- I get guava, lemon and cranberry.
This is wonderfully tart and biting, with a lemony and generally berry like sourness. The base seems generally light and a little grainy.
This is pretty light bodied, with a crisp and snappy mouthfeel.
I didn't know what to expect with this, but it's still quite nice.

L - Pours a light golden amber body with a fizzy eggshell head.
S - A combination of berries and a grainy base. Somewhat muted.
T - Juicy & tart with that grainy frucht base.
F - Light bodied and medium to high carbonation. A dry and lingering tartness on the finish.
O - If you've had one Frucht beer with a variant, then you'll know what to expect with the rest. This series is solid.
