A: Poured into a tulip to a deep reddish brown beer which is topped by a slightly dense and rocky finger of light tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of pleasant sourness, a little leather, oak, funk and huckleberries.
T: Taste is quite tart on entry with some sour cherry and huckleberry notes, hints of leather and funk, and a touch of drying oak with a slight caramel sweetness. On the finish there's more sourness, cherry, huckleberry, slight leather, and oak.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of heft on the body with a slightly creamy feel. Carbonation is sort of low, yet adequate while the beer has a drying finish due to the acidity.
O: Overall this beer is great. Oude Tart is a great base beer and this just dials it up another notch. Really good flavors and complexity which make this a joy to drink.

Appearance: Cloudy dark brown color with purple undertones. The beer has a medium-sized beige head that dissipated fairly quickly. An interesting looking wild ale.
Smell: Tart berry notes and mild tobacco aromas. The berry notes are very prominent in the nose.
Taste: Tart berries, mild tobacco, mild leather, and very faint oak notes. The berries are present all the way through the finish resulting in a mildly sweet finish.
Mouth-feel: Body is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. nothing to change here.
Overall: Oude Tart continues to be one of my favorite sours regardless of style. while I feel some of the more subtle characteristics of the base Oude Tart get buried to some degree by the fruit additions, all of the fruited variants I've had add a unique spin to the base Oude Tart.
