Type: 32-oz. Crowler can
Glass: Hardwood Artisans pint glass
From: My friend Chad
Price: N/A
Purchased: N/A; Received on Nov. 27, 2015
Consumed: Nov. 27, 2015
Misc.: No ABV anywhere (online, on the can or on their website)
Thanks, Chad!
Poured a dark reddish brown, murky color with 2-to-3 fingers of grayish, tan head. Could not see any bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass. Average retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled smooth rye hops, sugary iced tea, roasty malts, caramel, toffee, herbal hops, light menthol and some peppery grassy hops. Digging it. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose, although not quite as flavorful. Could be the long ride from Reno, which I was warned about, but it’s still good. Getting herbal hops, rye hops, menthol, roasty malts, floral hops and earthy, gritty Citra rind. Not as much malts as I would have thought, kind of reminding me of Firestone Wookey Jack’s red-headed sister. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt, herbal finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This beer would have been much better fresh, but still good. Will have to try it again next time I go to Reno. (Overall - 3.75)
