Had this beer on tap at the Orchard restaurant in downtown Frederick, MD. I entered this as a Black Ale, but it could be a hoppy imperial stout or Black IPA. Whatever. So its a very smooth drinking 8.4% brew, with nice chocolately notes, malt, slight roast and a balancing act with floral/citrusy hops. No ashiness at all. No bitterness at all. Just a delicious beer that is great with the fresh hops added. Nicely made.
