Copenhagen 26/2 2016. 33 cl bottle from Skjold Burne, Brønshøj Torv, Brønshøj. As Shark's Coffee Pot. Part of the Brick by Brick series with the little cart on the label.
Pours opaque dark brown with a light beige head. Settles as a thin layer of foam. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma of coffee, wood and dark roasted malt. Sweet and earthy.
Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate.
Flavor is surprisingly bland and watery. Mostly sweet chocolate and a little sourness in the aftertaste.
Will not make any great impact in the World history of the Milk Stouts.

-Sweet stout in Duvel glass. Batch#RK004 warmed to 45f.
A: Dark hersey chocolate pour is thick and viscous from the bottle. There is almost no head formation, light tan whispy covering, with no window dressing on the vessel.
S: Sweet cocoa, milky chocolate and lactose are first impressions on the nose. Light traces of freshly ground coffee beans, marshmellow and a soft chocolate smokiness on the trail. Everything is of moderate strength, with some dark fruit of plums and figs adding a light sweetness. The more i sniffed this, the more I grew to appreciate it, with a nice lingering factor that kept you coming back for more. I really enjoyed the smoky chocolate sweetness.
T: The flavor was sweet as with the nose, cocoa and milky chocolate dominate, with milky and lactose highlights. Sweet dark fruit of figs show a sugary raisin and syrup sweetness and support. There is some fresh, oily coffee, but it is the strong cocoa/chocolate combo that make this live up to its style as a sweet stout and are the highlights here. Some marshmellow and a soft smokiness overlaying all. The dark plums are especially experienced post-swallow and some warming.
M: Light milky body is softly carbonated with a very silky, smooth texture.
O: Overall the sweet nose pulls you in, the similar flavor attributes make you stay. Very silky and smooth chocolate base, subtle coffee tones, with a light smokiness and dark fruit add to the spectrum and drinking experience, living up to its style. Good drink-ability, remains strong to the finish, a dessert style drink, that is smooth, sweet and silky. From Lithuiana I believe.

Jet black with creamy tan cap that goes fast. 3.75
Stale coffee nose. 3.75
Fig rolls, coffee candy, slight licorice, and carob and earth to finish. 3.75
Light, creamy, dry. 4
Coffee is there but there’s enough else going on. Thin, even with that lactose slickness, but I can forgive that at 4.5%. Pretty impressive for out-of-date Lithuanian faux-craft. 4

Pours a coffee black, with a soft, thin beige film on top.
Aromas of light coffee, cola and medium malt.
Mild malt flavor first, then cola, graham, chocolate, and light coffee.
Very mild, light beer overall.

From the 750 ml corked bottle in a snifter. This nice stout pours a pitch black color with a modest head of very light tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and light lacing. Nose of subtleties....light chocolate, dark roasted malts, subtle coffee. Flavors blow the nose out of the water with smooth rich chocolate flavors touched on the middle by lactose. A light coffee note hits on the middle and back with roasted malts falling off on the sides. Nice mouth feel, slick, coating, lightly carbonated, and above all....VERY ENGLISH! An excellent English brew done right in Lithuania. One of the best beers from this country I have had to date.
Cheers

Extremely dark brown, nearly black, with a quickly fading tan head. Smell is slightly sweet, with roasted malt, mild floral aspect, and coffee. Flavor is intriguing; roasted malt and coffee are definitely present, caramel, with a light raisin note, earthiness like dry stone, and a floral, kinda soapy yet pleasurable, note at the end. Moderately sweet. Fine carbonation, slightly oily, light-medium body; highly drinkable.
The coffee was more of a nuance than a main component, while a very interesting (in a good way) malt-flowery flavor and smell were the mainstays. I'm glad the alcohol was kept low, as it allowed for great drinkability from this unusual, tasty brew.

Labeled as Shark's Coffee Pot for the US market.
Batch number: RK 002. Best before: 3/30/16.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, dirty coffee bean, burnt brewed coffee, and slight lactose aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, lactose, earth, and coffee bean flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with a coffee presence that comes off as a bit dirty and burnt to me.
Serving type: bottle.

Chicago 1/18/16 (750ml corked bottle poured into standard pint glass). Black solid/thick pour, slight tan head quickly dissipated. Strong coffee aroma and taste with hint of chocolate. Very light texture, extremely smooth going down.Negligible carbonation. Good desert drink (I paired with lemon cake).
