Helles Chilli Beer. Bought a fresh growler. Not my first chilli beer, but still had only a few before.
Pours golden orange, one finger head with big frothy bubbles.
Smells a little like a funky zwickl, dry leaves, boiled vegetables, low citrus and some toasted grains.
Initial taste doesn't say much. Some low toasted malts, very low fruitiness, low dry hops also. The chilli peppers hit in the back after a second or two, pinching and then burning.. everything in its way. Seriously, there's nothing else in the aftertaste. Also you can't really taste the chillis (maybe a faint vegetable stew/paprika taste in the first sip), but you get the burning sensation in full. It didn't mellow down for me, even after a while, but i still fought through.
I guess it could pair nicely with some rich food, but it surely isn't refreshing. A nice "dare" with some friends, or just to try out of curiosity, but i won't be back for more.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
