12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 4/28/20, so 16 months old.

Mixed look to this one. Hazy pale straw yellow body. The head leaves one ring of lacing then disappears to a thin broken ring.

Grassy, grainy, barnyard aroma.

On tasting, it's a very strong taste. Grain, grass, and a long lasting slightly sour bitterness .

Mouth medium, finish a little dry and that lasting bitterness.

Overall, an okay drink. Not something I would seek out too often, but kudos to 2SP for brewing a hard to find style

First, it must be mentioned that lagers, including Pilsners just can't compete with ales in the look and smell categories. That's not how, even the best ones, are designed. This is an excellent Pilsner, but things like a nearly missing bouquet and its near translucency have to be considered. After a couple poured from a tap into a clear pint glass, this much is known. It's very thin looking, an almost translucent light amber with very little head. There's very little aroma, despite the straining effort of the nose. Yet, the taste is delightful, a near perfect balance of malt and hops in an appreciated level below a good ale. Surprisingly, the glass lacing is beautiful and seconds the mouth's opinion that this is a quality brew. Although it's well carbonated, it's also rich and smooth. Stoudt's used to make an incredible Pennsylvania Pilsner and Victory still does. This is in that category.

Pours a hazy light straw color.
Nice malt backbone, good use of hops.
Nothing Stellar, but not a bad choice for a refresher.
There are better, there are a lot worse out there.
I'd say an average well made hazy Pilsner. Wouldn't trek through snow to get it though.

On tap, poured into a shaker pint glass.

L---Crystal clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Head had little retention and left minimal lacing.

S---Grains & malts are in front of the hops, but the hops are there providing citrus aromas.

T---Smooth & clean. It had a stronger taste than I was expecting, not that there's anything wrong with that. There's a dough taste as well as some hop bitterness. Light grassiness & citrus are present, also.

F---Richer than expected, but still medium bodied. Good carbonation.

O---A clean, smooth beer. This is one I could drink all day and not get tired of it.

Good basic lager beer with nothing really nailing any catagory but just solid. Canned on 1/8/19. Very fresh. Very crisp in the finish, leaving a little metalic aftertaste as only negative.

I like Pilsners as long as they don't finish like a corn lager or taste like Pilsner Urquell. Pilsners are harder to make than ales and thankfully there are some brewers today making good ones. For me, I can't narrow down my favorite style of pilsner, i.e., a Keller, a Helles or an American version with some extra hops added, so I try them all by taste. If they have some additions of American hops it doesn't hurt.

Anyway It get a five for look because its clear and it left great lacing on my pint glass.

Excellent with food. Anything made by 2SP is going to be good. I didn't even know they made a pilsner.

There I was, knee-deep in Take Your Pils With A New Beer, We're Heading to Media, PA This Sunday (Week 752)!, when the Sterling Pig took great umbrage at my suggestion of a pig roast on the beach. He snuffed & snorted & ordered me out of town! 8=O I quickly summoned an Uber & headed 6 miles S to Aston, to see my old buddy, "Big" Bob Barrar of 2SP. Bob & I go WAY back, to when he was apprenticing under his brother-in-law, Jim CANcro, at Red Bell. "Big" Bob really is big, a giant of a man with a Russian Cossack-like black beard. He is like our Lt. Gov. Fetterman - security? Who needs security? I AM security!

From the CAN: "Unfiltered"; ":Everything We CAN't Drink, We CAN".

I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a steady C-Line Glug since clarity was not going to be a CANsideration. It formed two plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head that more closely resembled a vanilla swirl soft-serve ice cream cone. 8=O The beer itself was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Pale-Straw (SRM = 1 - 2), but the head was unabating, even in the face of the day's heat & humidity. 8=O Nose had a pronounced grassiness, undoubtedly of Saaz or Noble hops. The malt was more subdued, but with a biscuitiness that was undeniable. Mouthfeel was medium, but very soft on the tongue. The taste was just the sort of thing that I really like - lemony, grassy, lemongrass & biscuity, like liquefied lemon biscotti! Or lemon Italian ice on a hot day. Lemons & biscuits. Mmm. Finish was clean, dry, refreshing & now, I was sad. How was anything else today going to beat this? 8=( I have plenty else from 2SP, though, so we shall see.
