The clear dark golden amber beer is served in a nonic pint glass with a 1/4” white head. Sipping leaves a bit of lacing on the sides of the glass.
The aromas are filled with malt and just a bit of spiciness from the hops.
The flavors are mostly about the rich bready malt and its sweetness. There’s also a bit of caramel and some spicy bitterness showing.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth with some persistent, gentle carbonation. The finish begins as the bready sweetness fades to leave the semi-sweet ending to the light spicy bitterness.
Overall this is a well made beer that I could easily have another of with no hesitation. While it’s not the best English Bitter I’ve had (those were in the UK) it’s a solid enjoyable pint.

Gold color and nearly clear. Good starting head but little lace.
Deeply malty with a nice crystal roast and sweetness to the nose. I also get a very subtle sweeter spice, like cinnamon, aroma.
The spice continues in the taste, although it's definitely not cinnamon. There's a berry-like sweetness at the start. The hop, while not overly strong, balances this beer well. I note some alcohol but it's very subtle. Body is solid and the carbonation is as one would expect.
Overall, I love the difficult to identify flavors. It makes this beer unusual and mysterious.
