Thanks goes out to larryi86 for this brew.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 10/25/17

My first from this brewery.

Poured into a tulip a pretty nice hazy dark golden yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a really nice thick/creamy two-finger white head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, slightly citrusy. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, citrusy. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a slight bitter/dry finish. Overall, a tasty brew, a nice thirst quencher.

Par for my goofy course - I was focused on beers from Sterling Pig (Media, PA) & 2SP (Aston, PA), initially thinking that they were in the same city! Aston is only six (6) miles from Media, which may have led to my CANfusion, but I spent the day alternating between the two. I left off at the end of the night with 2SP's Bellcracker, an ADIPA & so I decided to pick back up with Sterling Pig's ADIPA. I am CANtinuing to run through my backlog of 2SP beers at this point.

From the CAN: "An IPA Invigorated with Mosaic and Equinox Lupulin Powder".

I Crack!ed open the vent to get a spritz across my fingertips! Well, I could only follow that up with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug since it indicated a brimful craft CAN & I did not need a mess at this hour. It returned the favor by forming just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention without any bidding on my part. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose smelled very tropical, loads of all of the usual suspects - mango, papaya, guava, passionfruit. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste remained very tropical, but it lacked the bitterness that I was looking for in the style. It actually tasted better on a hot, humid Summer evening than it would have at another time. I had been CANcentrating on lighter & fruited/fruit-flavored beers to try & beat the heat before Sunday's foray, so this actually dovetailed nicely. I will also say that I have not been a huge fan of Tropical/Southern Hemisphere hopped AIPAs for a while, their luster having quickly worn off for me, and yet I was finding this to be quite enjoyable. Finish was semi-dry, tropical fruit sweet, which is not to say outright sweet. Not a bad foray. YMMV.

Appearance: pours a slightly hazy orange color with a nice 2" fluffy head.

Smell: very little citrus aroma here.

Taste: biscuit, grapefruit, some orange, and a very earthy hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp at the start, less crisp late.

Overall: this comes off as a bit unbalanced. Trying hard to be bitter to compensate for the lower alcohol and it doesn't work to well.

Torrent 4.2 - 2SP
IPA - 4.2% abv
Canned 10/25/17 (25 days ago)

L - massive 4-finger head erupts atop a translucent orange body.

S - green onion, dirt, cauliflower. Vegetal AF.

T - dirt-forward. Getting that cauliflower on the taste too. A tinge of butter. Semi-sweet middle. Low bitterness.

F - Highly carbed. Medium-light body.

O - For 4% abv this has a ton of flavor in it. Not necessarily my favorite flavors, but still, impressive.

Honey amber in color with very food clarity. Poured with a moderate, crramy, bright white foam with medium high retention. Medium high aromas of overripe tropical fruit and mellow herbal spices along with floral and resinous notes. Medium light cracker-like malt notes. Medium light bodied with soft, medium carbonation. Light creamy smooth feel through the middle. Medium high herbal and floral hop flavors followed by medium high bitterness through the middle. Low malt flavors. Finished with a strong, lingering bitterness. Appearance and aroma complexity is excellent. As with most low abv pale ales, the body and malt character are lacking. But I guess this is a session ale. Bitterness is a bit intense at the end which may fatigue the session drinker. Tasty nonetheless.

16 oz can, dated 10/25/17, poured into a teku

A- A slightly hazy golden amber with a two finger white head.

S- Dank, undertones of tropical fruits and citrus, some herbal tea, somewhat piney. Smells like straight lupulin powder.

T- Dank, citrus/citrus rind, some tropical fruits, finish is piney with some herbal notes.

M- Smooth, light body.

O- A solid session IPA, but their ASAP with Citra and Galaxy Lupulin Powder was better.
