Brewed with rye & oats. Made with 88 lbs of late addition Amarillo hops (think orange & tangerine), this beer is big on the juicy business.

Notes via stream of consciousness: A two-inch head of rocky white foam rests gently atop a cloudy golden body. The aroma is quite interesting. It's quite floral, perhaps a bit woody and spicy, and citrusy. The label reads "NEW ENGLAND IPA WITH OATS + AMARILLO HOPS. I get the Amarillo but there's certainly something else going on. The taste is unique as well, but somewhat different than the aroma. It's interestingly earthy and nutty, and maybe a little bit spicy as well. It reminds me of Dogfish Head's Shelter Pale Ale which had a unique grainy maltiness from Delaware grown malts. The Amarillo hops remain with their orange, grapefruit, and lemony fruitiness. It's nicely balanced between sweetish malt and bitterness, and really well rounded with all of the components working well together, and without anything standing out more than anything else. I kind of though that the fruitiness of the Amarillo hops might dominate but the malt character has such depth that it rivals it. On that note, I didn't initially get the oats but once it warmed a bit they became clear. In the mouth it's medium bodied, and all of the extra proteins from the oats leave it gently crisp and then silky smooth. The head held up magnificently, and it left some very nice lacing throughout the entire glass. This is definitely a unique beer, and while some might not find it to be their cup of tea I doubt that anyone would turn it away. I love it and would definitely go for seconds.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of oranges, little else. Taste is oranges, light rye, moderate bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Hazy golden in body with white fluff. Aroma of papaya, grass, citrus, mango, and kiwi. Tastes of kiwi, citrus, papaya, grass, honey?, and hop bitterness towards the end. Thick body with medium carb.

A: pours a hazy gold body with thick white head with nice retention and lacing.
S: subtle floral smell with some sweet undertones; not too crazy.
T: sweet, floral notes with some subtle grapefruit notes; some danky notes in the aftertaste.
M: medium bodied and fist smooth; slightly refreshing
O: pretty solid drinking beer; nice and refreshing. Oats balanced it out a lot, hops dissipate a little.

The CANQuest (tm) is back for New Tying Up Loose Ends Beer Sunday, Redux (Week 760)! This one takes us back, in the TARDIS, to Week 752.
From the CAN: "New England IPA Made with Oats + Rye"; "Images are provided courtesy of the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove in Audubon, Pennsylvania, & the Montgomery County Audubon Collection"; "Everything We CAN't Drink, We CAN".
How very cool! The approved pic does not really do it justice. I decided to do it justice by virtue of a Crack!, followed by a slow, gentle C-Line Glug. It foamed up nicely to form two-plus finger of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) & this was actually a knock against it stylistically. 8=( Nose smelled like orange blossoms! Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very orange-y, like the citric acid-based cleaner/solvent that the Navy went to in the early-1990s. You had to use a little more elbow grease, but it was non-toxic & boy, did the space smell good! The notes mention tangerine & I CANcur, but orange was leading the way. Warming, the peppery spiciness of the rye beCAN to assert itself. Finish was dry, citrusy & peppery & just what the doctor ordered for this jonesing hophead. Mmm. YMMV.

Can dated 2/2/19 into pint glass. Pours a hazy amber with a coarse off-white head. Initial impression is orange, tangerine, maybe some grapefruit rind, with a slight malt sweetness. Although billed as a NEIPA, I'd characterize it as not quite as "soft" as is typical of the style. Mouthfeel is medium (just a tiny bit thin for my tastes); carbonation is perfect. Finish is slightly bitter, but not objectionably so. A good but not great NEIPA.

First time seeing this beer in Delaware. Two Stone (2SP) Up & Out IPA is one of my favorites, so I had to try this beer from our friends over the line in Aston ,PA. This batch canned on 2/26/19 has an ABV of 6.8%. 16 oz can has images of flowers and birds from Audobon. Beer has a citrus scent and opening the can was very promising. Can label says New England IPA made with oats and rye. I notice a little malt in the taste, but nice bitter finish. It has some citrus and dryness in the taste. Very enjoyable and easy to drink. I like this beer.
