Pours a nice bright gold with two fingers of Rocky head that fades leaving minimal lacing. The nose is nice and strong. Aromas of hops and pine. Taste starts with a bit of citrus up front. This one is nice and bitter, Piney, biscuity, and strong. Overall a very solid WCIPA

Nice to have this brewer close enough that I can get fresh. Canned on 6/15 and drinking in early July. I had t had this beer before even though I have seen it around. Ipening the 16 oz can and it smells like a juicy NEIPA and the initial taste is citrus but then you get the malt and bitterness along with a great mouthfeel. This is a great option when you’re looking for a classic IPA. If you like a nice bitter finish then this beer is for you. Very tasty.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $2.49. Canned on 6/23/2020, so this is just under 6 weeks old.

Look: Light golden orange color. Crystal clear - no haze to speak of here. Quarter-inch off-white head, decent retention and lacing. Looks like a nice beer representative of the style.

Smell: Sweet watermelon - very interesting and nice, faint caramel malt, light citrus, piney. The nose is somewhat subdued to me. Being that this is a West Coast IPA, I am expecting the taste to have a lot of bitterness. Definitely like that watermelon note - pretty cool that comes through.

Taste: Up front, a bit of sweetness and caramel malt. Finish is strongly resinous and piney, the bitterness lingers long. The bitter finish almost resembles grapefruit rind, but this beer has no juiciness. Very crisp and clean, refreshing.

Feel: Medium carbonation. Medium mouthfeel. Crisp and clean. Crushable.

Overall: Wow, it's kind of crazy to think when was the last time I drank a West Coast Style IPA. The recent popularity of NEIPAs has consequently made this style less exciting. I wouldn't mind if this style makes a comeback when the pendulum swings back and a lot of the NEIPA haze dust settles. I certainly enjoy a good NEIPA, and I also think that there is a place for well made West Coast Style IPAs like this one. At the same time, I can understand why this beer and others from the style are considered nothing to write home even though they are well made and delicious. I can even feel the difference in weight between this can and a NEIPA-style can of similar ABV. The NEIPA can feels much heavier compared to this one. Actually, I cannot tell that this beer is 6.8% ABV. It tastes a bit lighter than that to me because the alcohol seems very well hidden. This beer is easy to drink, refreshing, and clean. I've enjoyed quite a few offerings from 2SP, and everything that I have had from them has been very clean and well-made. From 2SP website: "hopped and dry hopped aggressively with Columbus, Simcoe, and Centennial." Nice beer.

This is another good brew from a strong brewery. Tastes a little bit different then a classic West Coast for me. A bit sweeter on the citrus notes at the front end of the taste even though it finishes with a strongly bitter aftertaste. Overall very enjoyable!

Copper orange in color with a heavy haze. Poured with a short, bright white foam with medium low retention. Resinous and piney hop aromas with malty and light caramel notes. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation, a light smooth feel, pleasant warmth and dry finish. Sicky, piney and resinous flavors with caramel notes and medium light malty backbone. Medium high bitterness through the middle. Earthy, fresh pine hop bitterness on the back end with slowly expanding boozy presence. Finished dryly with pleasant, lingering pine hop bitterness. An old school west coast IPA. Solid malty backbone balances the piney, earthy, intense hop character. This was excellent.
