pours inky black, just a bit of light sneaks into the corners of the glass with deep red color. thick tan colored head. good head retention and it leaves lacing on the glass. huge rich espresso aroma. the taste follows - very roasty - coffee, dark cocoa, fairly dry, some bitterness. full bodied, fairly smooth feel
