$4.49 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: I wish I knew what the name means but I have no clue unless it's just a different spelling for Sundays. It's poured a cloudy yellow gold body beneath a short head of creamy white foam. The aroma is woodsy, piney, and herbal with just a touch of tropical fruit over a grainy malt base. The taste opens it up bit it remains very much the same. I'm getting orange and peach upfront but then the woody, piney, and herbal notes step in and take over, particularly in the dry and bitter finish. I'm not really finding any alcohol; how strong is this? Ah, at 6.8% I wouldn't expect the alcohol to stand out. Wow, this is a really piney and bitter beer, and yet it also has a softly fruity side. Interesting. The further I get the more I'm finding, and I'm now getting some mango, flowers, grassiness, passion fruit, and lychee. Maybe a touch of grapefruit as well. In the mouth it's medium bodied but it feels fuller than that because of all of the extra proteins, and the carbonation is fine-bubbled and pretty much standard. I'm going to take a guess and say that this is brewed with Chinook as that's the only hop that I know that can give you that strong resin, pine, herbal, and woody character. There's a little bit of "dank" in there as well come to think of it. It's an intense beer, a true beer drinker's IPA, and I love that.
