Enjoyed from a growler via Country Fresh Farm Market in Beechmont. This porter pours a murky brownish black with a nice brown head of foam that settles to a thick ring and thin pooling layer with nice lacing. Nose of light coffee, lactose, subtle vanilla, light tobacco, and deeply roasted malts. Flavors follow the nose with espresso, chocolate, and cream up front followed by a nice vanilla note on the back that lingers with dark chocolate and espresso notes on the aftertaste. Nice mouth feel with good carbonation, smooth and robust----coating like a good porter should!
A new brewery off of Crookshank Rd. and a welcome addition to the great brewing heritage known as Zinzinnati. An excellent first brew for me and hopefully many more. Nice job.
