I had this beer on tap in a glass mug at the brewery in Vienna.
Appearance: light golden hue with a bit of haze and a thick head of pillowy ivory foam. Looks really great in this mug!
Smell: malt is crackery but with soft edges, and there’s a light and earthy hop aroma that rounds things out nicely.
Taste: nice and crackery like the aroma with a good sweetness and a nice hop character. It’s maybe a little more bitter than I think of a helles as being, but it’s still quite good.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a really good helles that, ok, is maybe a bit on the bitter side, but I’m really enjoying it!
