Young Lions is a 6% IPA pale yellow with hints of orange juice in appearance. Hopped intensely with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Motueka. Very low bitterness, crisp, and juicy. Notes of melon, grapefruit pith, bright lime peel, passion fruit, fresh mandarin orange, with a subtle floral note on the aroma. This is a special beer for us for many reasons and we hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

Smell: zesty lime melon dew grapefruit zest mandarin oranges tangerine crackery malt. Herbal earthy hops. The beer smells good but not super explosive and juicy
Taste: right upfront you get melon dew and mandarin oranges middle of the mouth Lime zest tangerine peel more juicy melon a little bit of crackery malt as well. The beer finishes with some herbal hoppy biterness along with some more lime zest. The herbal earthy flavor lingers in the after taste.
Feel: medium body really creamy. The beer is juicier on the palate then on the smell. Really easy drinking. Creamy and moderately juicy but drys out quickly. Makes you want to keep drinking it. They have the mouthfeel of there IPA'S dialed in.
Overall: really lime zest and melon forward. Nice and juicy not super explosive but still really tasty. The mouth feel is spot on creamy and easy drinking. Definitely an A level beer. The Veil makes really good beer!

16 oz can dated 5/15/17 and poured into Teku glass.
L: 2F head with some retention, patchy soapy white lacing, and a cap and ring. Beer is a hazy pale gold.
S: Melon, lemon-lime, and earthiness. Light malts. It should be noted I do not love Motueka and this does not change it, sadly.
T: Pretty much follows nose. Lots of lemon-lime and melon, but fairly soft and fades into light malt and earthiness. I gave it the best score I could for the hop.
F: Medium body, pretty lightly carbonated so earthiness lingers on finish. Construction is what it is.
O: I probably shouldn't rate Motueka beers, to be fair.
