Yeah, this can was old as I took forever to get to it and yeah, I can't recall the last time I had a DDH Mosaic Sour IPA but this fit that bill and this was enjoyable enough that I would have loved to have had a fresher can of this beer to review on here. As it was, I enjoyed this enough and thought that for something dated 10/25/16, that this was enjoyable and held up well in my basement over the last few years!
Not a bad look to this beer as the liquid was a hazy golden apple with enough light seeping through to make it bright. A bit of sediment was floating in the liquid but it wasn't a lot and very little ended up at the bottom of the liquid once I finished this off. Scattered clumps of lacing could be found throughout the back side of my pint glass as the head was moderate and lasted for a decent amount of time. Loads of Mosaic, grass, weed, apple, piss, and yard clippings in the nose as this had quite a wild and sour tone to it, even if the aroma itself was somewhat subdued and mild. Plenty of those notes were found in the taste as well as this felt like a fall beer combined with a turbid hop bomb, without any strong boozy or bitter aspects to it. Basic malt and a sense of passion fruit in the mouthfeel and aftertaste kept this lively as the double dry-hopping made this beer enjoyable from the get-go...
Hard to believe that the ABV in this was below 7.0% as it went down quite easily and felt nice on the palate. Given how strong Hudson Valley and similar brewers have taken off recently, this was almost a harbinger of a style that had yet to fully emerge. I enjoyed this and liked how different it was, while not being like most other American IPA's that I've had. Props to Veil for getting it right with this one!

The beer comes in a fully hazy deep gold.
The aroma is so fruity because of the subtle tart quality that helps imitate fruit. White peach, nectarine, mango, guava, a bit of green skin of apple.
The flavor follows with a medium to medium plus tart with full on fruits. Mango, nectarine, more tart guava, grainy apple skin, a grainy malt and crackery malt, onto green herbaceous Mosaic and grass on the aftertaste.

What a spectacular hybrid! Had it fresh, so that helps, but that dry hopping really left it's mark. The smell is rich of passionfruit, mango, and some potent Citra (I assume) hops. A tart lemon taste with just the slightest whiff of cucumber, and then it warms into more classic woody, earthy sour. Hazy as hell and great head to boot.

On tap at The Veil
A- pours a cloudy pale golden-yellow, foamy white head, great lacing
S- earthy & herbal hop some with highlights of citrus and pine, classic mosiac. Hint of sour lacto-like funk
T- just a hint of sour tartness up front gives way to earthy/herbal mosaics hop flavor, undertone of citrus, pine, cucumber & thyme. The finish is dry and tart, with more mosaic notes on the linger
M- medium body and carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and finish
O- just enough sour to compliment a mosaic showcase

Pours cloudy orange with thin head that drops quickly. Aroma of lemon, orange, passionfruit, peach, white grape, light malt, possibly wheat and bread. Flavor follows aroma with a nice tartness and a slight malty sweetness. A touch of sweet crackery malt. Mouthfeel is med-light with moderate carbonation. Probably my favorite sour ipa The Veil has put out. There is just enough from the malt to keep it from being one dimensional. Seems slightly dryer and crisper than regular Kevin IIRC. Really tasty and well balanced.
