16 oz can from 5/23/17 release. Poured into Behind the Veil Trku glass.
L: Mostly-hazy golden-orange. 2F head with good retention, leaving lots of spotty lacing and a cap and ring.
S: Pineapple-orange-grapefruit-lime with light malts.
T: Follows nose quite nicely. Flavors are really soft and rounded. Finish is neutral. This is very nicely done.
F: Moderate body, light to medium carbonation. Structure and balance are excellent.
O: Very good no-frills DIPA

Poured from a 16oz can into a tulip glass (1 week old). Smell is earthy/dank hops, orange puree, onion, honeysuckle, biscuit, and pineapple. Taste follows the nose with excellent juicy and earthy hop flavor. Veil noted that this was a 50/50 blend of Citra and Australian Enigma hops, which taste like a more earthy Galaxy. I seem to be getting more of the Enigma, but I would have guessed it was hopped with the standard American varieties. Sweetness and bitterness are low to moderate with great balance. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a nice crisp finish.
Overall, this is another excellent NE style IPA from Veil with more earthiness than I am used to in their beers (maybe because it was a week old, or there use of Enigma hops). Mouthfeel and juiciness are on point, and the 8% ABV gives the perfect malt backbone. Full flavored yet drinkable. I highly recommend.
