Never Scared is the next offering in our Never fruited Gose series. Clocking in at 4.9% we used pink Himalayan Sea Salt in the kettle and condition this tart Gose on hundreds and hundreds lbs of Pink Guava purée.

The Veil Brewing Co. "Never Scared"
on tap at the brewery on 17 June 2017
$5 / 6 oz.
Notes: Has the appearance of a glass of grapefruit juice with a short head that immediately drops to just a thin collar of white. The lacing is of course limited as well, leaving only tiny spots behind. The aroma is tart with an odd fruitiness that's like citrus rind, brine, and maybe a little bit of guava. It's a little off-putting to be honest, the mucky, briny part at least. The flavor is sharp, definitely tart, but perhaps not all the way to full-on "sour" if that makes any sense; and the guava comes through. The odd note found in the aroma is not present, thankfully, although there is still some minor saltiness. Light-medium in body and crisp with a fine-bubbled, gently effervescent carbonation. Refreshing, and funky with a little bit of complexity, but for me hindered by the aroma.

12 oz pour at The Veil.
L: Hazy golden bronze. Small head, not much retention, a bit of lacing and a ring.
S: Lots of guava, a bit of coriander, wheat malt, and a bit of sea brine.
T: Slightly tart guava and a little bit of wheat malt until midpalate. Brine is present but wisely understated. Honestly tastes more like a true Gose than some of the others in the Never line.
F: Light to medium bodied, pretty aggressively carbonated so bitterness doesn't linger. Crisp and refreshing; well-constructed and balanced.
O: Very nice addition to the Never line.

Pink hue, minimal lacing, the aroma and flavor of guava dominate the tart and salt. One of the better gose's I've had from their series and probably overall
