I’m Derek Jeter - The Veil
DIPA - 8% abv
Canned 3/5/18 (24 days ago)
L - 2-finger yellowish head atop a deep orange body.
S - citrus, pineapple, pine, grass, a little booze.
T - tons of citrus and tropical fruit. A slight herbal dankness. Very smooth middle, with just a touch of that dirty taste I associate with Veil. Moderately bitter finish. Low sweetness, low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - Very similar to the other Jeter beer, except the booze is better hidden here.

Poured a cloudy orange body with large head and frothy lace. Acidic orange juice like aroma with some tropical fruits like mango, pineapple as well. Smooth, slightly creamy, no bitterness at all, the orange/citric hoppiness is mildly pleasant and there's a thicker, malt-based sweetness that combines with the tropical fruits for a sweet finish.

On draft at Church Key. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a medium hazy golden yellow body, one finger white head, good retention, thin film, slight lacing. Smell is big spicy tropical fruit, citrus, mango, light caramel, pineapple, grapefruit. Lots of hops are living in this beer, pretty intense. Flavour is a bit more nuanced; less of the mango and pineapple and more of the grapefruit, tropical fruit and spices. Minimal caramel presence. Slight grainy mineral befitting the style. Mild spicy and earthy bitterness on the backend. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, appropriately carbonated, soft and so damn drinkable. Minimal bitterness despite all the hopping that clearly went into this beer. Overall, a very tasty NE IPA with a lot of that southern hemispheric hop character to it, very tasty and nicely executed.
