Tastees are kettle sour ales clocking in at 5.5%. We add a bunch of lactose to these and brew them intentionally to be fuller-bodied to try and replicate a fruit smoothie. We then select two different fruits and bomb it out in secondary fermentation at just shy of double fruited goses levels of fruit. For the next fruit blend in this series, we decided to use passion fruit and raspberry. Incredible tropical and berry notes. Perfect level of acidity with the balanced sweetness and smoothie-like body.

Appearance: Arrives opaque and magenta colored with a thin pink head; spots of lacing

Smell: Passion fruit and raspberry smoothie tones

Taste: Tart raspberry forward with passionfruit building; not overly sour but the tartness does build, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Tart and fruity but very much like a smoothie

Really a pleasant to drink. Pours a opaque bright red with a thin slightly pink head that dissipates quickly. Nose is fruity. Berry and tropical with notes of yogurt. There is not much here that would make you think you’re drinking a beer. Taste is packed with fruitiness. Berries and tropical fruit smoothie like. A bit of yogurt funk and a touch of tart round out this brew. Nice acidity, not overwhelming but enough there to make you slightly pucker. Creamy body, smoothie like. Interesting brew. I enjoyed it a lot obviously.

Big thanks to CanConPhilly for this
16 oz can, dated 3/27/18, poured into a teku

A- An opaque deep berry red with a two finger pink head.

S- Passion fruit, raspberries, strawberries, some tart berries, some lactose sweetness. Smells like a mixed berry smoothie.

T- Sour mixed berries, getting mainly raspberry and strawberry along with passion fruit, some lactose, touch of salt.

M- Smooth, creamy, medium body.

O- The Veil just made a sour beer that basically tastes like fruit smoothie, very impressive.

Moderate dark horse at a tasting, Passion Berry Tastee blew me away just a little bit. It's a fantastically creamy, rich, deeply raspberry and passion fruit-infused beer. I'm not often in to lactose beers, but this one is excellent.

Thus far, it's probably my favorite of the Veil beers that I've had. They all seem to exhibit a certain degree of excess - in this specific beer, it works, and very well. I can dig it, a lot.

My first tastee offering from veil. Don't know if it's this one in particular, or the lactose addition that differs it from the ever increasing fruited sours coming out, but I like this better than the gose's
