We took our robust chocolate milk stout and conditioned it on Blanchard’s Coffee coffee beans, cocoa nibs, Tahitian vanilla beans, cinnamon, maple syrup and a touch of creme of coconut.

I'm struggling with this beer.. It's what I like in a stout.. Jet black, dark head, coffee, maple.. But it's just too weird to love. Pours black into the glass, foams up immediately, and cascades like a Guinness. Once the head is gone, you can't get it back, and it's nearly flat. Has more shit floating in it than polluted pond. Like, nuts or something. It has a coffee punch, with some nice maple undertones. But the mouthfeel is just so flat, it's really bringing down the whole drinking experience. If this was rich and smooth, this beer could be really good. But its weirdness renders it fairly average.

I was given a can and did not realize this wasn't regular Hornswoggler. Obviously I was not surprised to taste chocolate and coffee in a milk stout. I suspected coconut based on appearance and flavor but did not get as far as the cinnamon or maple.
Looks oily (as with many coconut stouts) with very little head. Not appealing.
Aroma and flavor are dark bitter chocolate, coffee, and dark roasted malt with coconut and probably vanilla. I did not think "maple" or "cinnamon" while drinking this.
Mouthfeel has low carbonation. Slick.
Overall a nice chocolate milk stout with lots of added stuff, some of which comes through more than others.

On-tap at the Veil Brewing Co., Richmond, VA
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with only a minuscule ring of tan bubbles around the edge of the glass. The head eventually completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted coffee beans are present in the nose.
T: The taste is quite complex and has flavors of coffee beans along with notes of cocoa nibs and maple syrup.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The taste of this beer is quite complex and really packs in a mix of flavors.
Serving type: on-tap
