this is insane beer, my first from this much acclaimed operation, and while i dont necessarily want to drink all that much of it, i sure respect it. its in that tool/mikkeller/evil twin vein, totally fruited to oblivion, with a beautiful rich pink color, milky and thick like purple gravy almost, a nice head on it and all the density in the world, especially for a beer this low in alcohol. its hard to not find the color sexy, as new school and overdone as it obviously is. the aroma is more fruit than tart, but the tartness also seems fruit derived, although i get a blackberry and raspberry sweetness too, even though its apparently all boysenberry. crazy fruit profile, no way its all real berries right? has to be some type of syrup or concentrate i would think to get it this intense in here, but oddly enough its fairly dry when i drink it, and the very professionally done lactic sourness keeps it kind of clean for all the fruitiness. minerals and citrus too, a faint green olive pickle sort of thing, a little jammy character too, like i want to spread this on toast or mix it with gin. seems not particularly beery with all the fruit, but it isnt one dimensional either like some of these can be, i really appreciate that. really cool with the drying brisk salt at the end coming in, definitely gose not berliner, which is cool. overall i like this, but i still dont think i have a great feel for what kind of quality brewers these guys are, this much fruit would make anything taste good. ill look for more of their stuff though, this was fun!
