Hazy dark orange with two fat fingers of off-white head. Decent retention and thick lacing.
Strong white pepper, a touch of pine and creamy orange in the nose.
Very creamy tasting with basically the same flavors: pepper, pine and some light citrus. Sweet up front with some piney, borderline-chalky bitterness in the finish.
Soft, creamy feel with light carbonation.
Very solid beer, but other than the feel, there’s little to make it stand out from the pack these days. Not nearly the Nelson profile I was expecting, either.

Courtesy of @vabeerguy. Canned on 7/22/2015 so only 3 days old. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It pours a dirty tangerine color with a large, fluffy, milk-white head and abundant spotty lacing. The nose features lots of citrus - lemon, lime, and grapefruit rind - along with onion, vanilla, pineapple, and the unmistakable aroma of Nelson hops. Wowza, it this ever dank! It opens with tart and bitter citrus and just a hint of vanilla cream and tropical sweetness from the Galaxy hops. At mid-sip there is a strong dose of Nelson hops which lend dryness. The finish is quite bitter. The flavors are nicely balanced. The mouth feel is smooth and plush with moderate carbonation, while the 8% ABV gives it lots of substance. Overall, this is a first rate DIPA that makes great use of the Nelson hops. My first experience with Veil is memorable!

Canned 10/29/18
Appearance - Pours hazy and dirty straw in color with a white, near finger width head. Fair retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds. Nto much for lacing aside from a dozen or so small spots.
Smell - Super dank aroma. Straight up marijuana. Hint of citrus sitting beneath.
Taste - More citrusy on the flavor profile, hitting on some juicy juice before some lesser dank / pine kicks in. Faint pineapple. Finish continues with citrusy character, pineapple acidity and a touch of earth emerging from the dank notes.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a semi-dry finish.
Overall - Never been a big fan of the smell of weed, so the aroma on this beer isn't doing it for me. Thankfully it's not as dank in the flavor profile, allowing more citrus to shine through. I actually really like the flavor profile.
