Canned 06/10/19, 3:22:04.
Golden orange pour, almost completely opaque: the head is soft and settles into a thin ring around the beer. Small amounts of lace cling to the inside of the glass.
Huge amounts of tropical fruit on the nose. Aromas of pineapple, passionfruit, and mango all stand out, with zesty citrus detectable throughout. Really no underlying hints of any hop influence.
Big, bold flavors, comparable to the nose but with more of a hop-forward profile. Mildly piney, but with a distinctly floral/herbaceous quality from those Nelson Sauvin hops no doubt. It’s fairly boozy, not too much effort to hide the ABV but I like the flavor. There’s hints of an almost estery finish that I can’t pinpoint.. not too distracting but not my favorite finishing taste.
Pretty big-bodied and smooth, this Imperial leaves nice traces of sticky hop resin behind, along with a good amount of warm booze in the finish.
