Poured from a bottle into a wine glass

Look: Murky purple with a thin pinkish head

Smell: Tart, salinity, oak, and a plastic note. Not too pleasing.

Taste: Tart flush up front with notes of salinity and lemon zest. Then a huge plastic band aid notes some up with some farty notes and a grape finish.

Feel: Medium acidity and sourness. Light bodied. No alcohol. Mild bitterness.

Overall: I can’t get over that bandaid note. It doesn’t destroy this beer but it certainly makes it worse. Just okay.

Appearance: Pours a hazy lavender with a one finger mauve head; a few splashes of lace

Smell: Earthy red wine grape and oak barrel aromatics; pushes the boundary of where a fruited lambic ends and a red wine begins

Taste: Lactic tart grape flavors forward with an earthy red wine tone; the oak aspect builds, through the middle with a considerable amount of tannins that linger into the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; rather puckery

Overall: The Veil has pushed the envelope here; quite an achievement
