The beer pours very little head and only pours a bubbly dark brown one after a hard pour but still dissipates fairly quickly. The beer is a deep and dark chocolate brown. It's as dark and black as a puddle of oil but with the texture of melted milk chocolate.
The smell is fairly indulgent. There is a nice roasted coffee note that comes out right up front and dominates the nose alongside a bittersweet chocolate and maple syrup.
The taste is absolutely wonderful. The various notes seamlessly mix with and complement each other well. The taste starts off with a sweet maple syrup note and bittersweet chocolate that are buoyed by a roasted coffee note that moves into the finish.
The feel is good. It has a really thic and heavy body that feel like liquid chocolate syrup. There is very very little carbonation to it.
Overall, this is an indulgent beer and one worth getting to hold for the winter. The coffee works really well with the other notes.
