It's the unmistakable pour of a modern American IPA. The pint can emptied into a clear glass liter mug reveals a brew that's obviously laden with oats. There's too much stark white foam on top of the liquid for it to be anything else. The foam recedes unevenly and unattractively. The beer isn't all that pretty, neither. It's pasty dark yellow-amber and it can be considered dull and murky. This smells better than it looks. The oats don't muddle the aroma of sharp citrusy hops. However, they add a little chalkiness to the taste and cut into the anticipated bite. Still, there's enough to provide a reference to grapefruit for the tongue. Despite the chalkiness in its taste, the mouthfeel seems unaffected. For this type of AIPA, this drinks cleanly, without sacrificing any body. The irregular foam gives way to some modest stratified glass lacing. If the alcohol is noticed at all, it's augmenting the overall taste. Even a traditional IPA lover, one who appreciates what barley malt adds to an IPA, may find this an acceptable triple dry hopped IPA.

Dark gold to orange in the glass. A nice head that leaves behind moderate lacing. Smells sweet and citrusy. Tastes like grape skins up front but then a grapefruit flavor and bitterness creeps in. Really tasty with a creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation.

On tap, pours a very hazy deep bright orange. Good combination of Citra and Nelson, balancing the grape and muskier, earthier notes. Very nice.
