poured from a 500mL bottle into a TG MD snifter. pours an inky, oily black with two separate dark brown foam patches that fade away quickly. a random pattern of coconut floaties on top. dark and beautiful. milk chocolate, slightly peppery coffee, coconut and faint bourbon on the nose. on the taste, it’s a lot of milk chocolate, even less barrel than the nose, the coconut covers up any imperfections in the coffee attributes as far as green pepper notes. it’s really rich and flavorful and honestly not too sweet. my biggest knock is the barrel is really lacking especially on the taste. even as this sucker warms up its still hidden to nonexistent. however, this is still delicious. the mouthfeel is full, lusciously smooth and silky. really enjoyable imperial stout. the coconut and coffee play well with one another and the base stout is chocolate-forward and fairly thick.
