A reasonable pour to empty the contents of a pint can had to be paused because of the excessive foam produced. Obviously, not a good start. There's a modest piney hop character to the smell, but not much more. As is usually the case in modern American IPAs, especially those barley malt deprived, the foam recedes quickly, unevenly and unattractively. Soon the remaining liquid fits inside the clear glass liter mug. Aside from the stark white foam, the color of the brew isn't much different than a typical adjunct lager. It's bright amber, with a slightly golden tint and relatively translucent. Its taste is thin, with only the hops making any impression. Even that's mediocre, at best, with a little bitterness and just a hint of pepper to add some flavor. Overall, this is a don't bother, unfortunately from a usually reliable brewer. The body is thin, almost terribly so. There's no complexity to taste and what is there isn't particularly distinguishable. It's such a letdown, even the spotty glass lacing became annoying.

Taster flight at the Bridge & Tunnel. Clear golden pour, small white head. Aroma is grassy, juniper, hoppy. Taste is clean bready malts layered with dense hops. Dry finish, lingering bitterness.
