Hazy golden-orange; nearly opaque but just slightly translucent. Big creamy white head. Awesome spiderweb of lacing.
Smells sweet, nutty, those grainy oats, very ripe cantaloupe, mango, strawberry, and papaya.
Tastes matches the nose pretty closely. Very ripe and sweet cantaloupe, papaya, strawberry, and mango hit the palate hard upfront, with maybe a touch a guava. Toasted white bread malt in the mid-palate. The honey lends a nice sweetness here but it doesn't get too cloying. The ripe fruit blend lingers on the finish, where some alcohol warmth is noticeable. There's a drying, vaguely hay/straw note on the finish, but then it ends pretty cleanly. The ripe cantaloupe and honey sweetness lingers for a moment.
Very thick and creamy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Smooth and dense on the palate.
A great honey oat DIPA. Many other honey NEDIPAs are too sweet for me, but this does it right!
