PKGD ON 02/02/2024. Poured into. BA 25th Ann teku — hell yeah!!
A: Moderately hazy nectar-like light amber with 1-2 finger off-white head with average retention and ample lacing.
S: Much fruitier than many recent Veil offerings with white grapefruit, guava, pineapple, followed by a strong dose of lemongrass, herbal character. A little pale malt sneaks in the background. Esters are relatively muted.
T: The flavor is more herbal, honeysuckle, and lemon grass, heavy than the aroma, but it also has more pithy citrus flavors like lemon and grapefruit. Additional hop flavors include guava, pineapple, with light berry in the background. Esters remain low and in the background with light fruitiness. Bitterness is moderate. Alcohol is well hidden.
M: Feel is a bit gritty like most of The Veil’s IPA with some green hop burn and some chalkiness in the finish.
O: I enjoyed SSNNCC more than most other Veil hazy IPA’s I have tried but it packs some pithy power in the DDH version of the original SNC.
