Imperial milk stout aged 40 months in Laird's Apple Brandy Barrels. Conditioned on Virginia Tulip Poplar Honey and whole Madagascar Vanilla Beans.

Another stout from The Veil arrives with an accompanying packet of high expectations, & in a 500ML bottle.
The pour is thickest I have seen since the glory days of Dark Lord (when our perceptions of such things was much different...) with a diminutive head that doesn't last long. Even the nose is thick. With malt. Sweet.
Whangdoodle - Honey Vanilla Apple Brandy Barrel ain't playin'. A pillar of this could hold up a firehouse, where everyone could lick it & get apple brandy drunk. I'm in! The apple brandy & achingly sweet malts slide into the palate like interlocking pieces, warming the belly & the soul. Filtered ash, semi-solid chocolate chips. I'd have guessed the ABV to be higher, but the viscous mouthfeel alone limits this to barely-finish-the-bottle territory.
Very good beer. Give it to me in an oversized shot glass & this rockets into excellent.
