16 oz can poured into pint glass.

A: pitch black body with a chunky creamy khaki colored head that settles slowly.

S: roasted coffee mixed in with a slightly metallic hint and a little hoppy nose smells like it might be bitter.

T: The coffee is about all I get out of the flavor almost espresso like bitter, fairly one dimensional.

M: Medium bodied not very full in taste. lowish carbonation about on point for the style.

O: Fairly one dimensional and disappointing might as well drink an average cup of cold black coffee.

A: Black and quite opaque the beer has thick off-white head that has adequate retention. Some lacing is evident.

A: Big, cold-pressed coffee aroma upfront, with lots of malt roast (almost semi-sweet bakers chocolate), slightly sweet on the finish.

T: Lots of coffee flavor upfront, followed by big roasty malts. The beer finishes with a touch of roast and hop bitterness (though very minimal).

M: Medium-light bodied with moderately light carbonation.

O: Solid effort. Most coffee influenced beers, use stouts or porters. It’s a little unusual and a bit refreshing to see a black ale used as a base. All in all, the beer has a lot of coffee/chocolate character and is pretty enjoyable to drink.
