Traded for this a while ago, but I'm unsure when as there wasn't a date or anything else written on the bottom of the can. Never had a beer from Mumford before and although this wasn't bad or felt old, this tended to feel typical and typecast more than anything else. IPA lovers won't be disappointed here but at the same time, this didn't break any new ground...
The pour to this was a muted apricot with plenty of head topping it off. Only a few splotches of lacing could be seen aside from the thin collar around the top of my pint glass. Hints of tropical fruit, floral notes, and citrus zest could be found here but as noted, this came across as basic both in the nose and in the taste. Sure, this was balanced and approachable for how much alcohol was in it, though hints of prickly pear cactus juice, overripe apricot, and deep guava weren't enough to keep this from being mediocre.
There wasn't a lot of carbonation in it either, which made this beer feel heavier than it was an actuality. The sediment was quite light too, which was good given how long I had this in my basement for. Nothing against Mumford but I'd have to have more of their offerings and a fresher can of this to see what they're about. IPA lovers won't be disappointed here either but like me, they'll be thirsting for more once this is gone...

I cracked this can open poured it into my glass, I was blown away by the amazing fruit smell then all of a sudden the taste did not quite correlate with the amazing smell. This beer was definitely a more malt forward type of beer, got a little bit fruit, but ended with a little bit of a sweet taste.

A: Deep orangish brownish red. hazy but not the "good" haze. more like dirty. Thin small round bubbles
S: citrus juice. juicy fruit. Rhubarb, spicy notes. pine, citrus zest
T: clunky spicy juice, prunes, citrus peel, lemon zest. pine
f: decently soft but quite watery
O: this is a mess. its trying so hard but it cant cut it. Someone said this is like Heady- this is NOTHING like HT. buyer beware.
Just because NE style IPAs are the popular crowd fav doesn't mean every brewer should make it.
