really generic take on the style here, little more than a belgian golden type with a little wheat in it, disappointing for sure, especially with so many good and more complex local saisons in this part of the country, i expected a lot more from this than a samey cultured yeast pitch run warm, there is nothing rustic or farmhouse about this at all, and it leaves a lot to be desired. i should say, its not objectively bad beer or anything, but they have done the bare minimum with this it seems. i wonder why anyone bothers to make saison like this, even with some citrus character here, the beer is wholly uninteresting because of the fermentation profile, which is an overly estery, pear and bubblegum leaning belgian type, even an apple note, overly developed and familiar, i wish for something, anything different than this. a combination of a couple of strains, a brett pitch, anything! some hops on the back end help it finish, even though its not as dry as it could be, and i dont mind the fuller grain body on this, but it could use more carbonation too. this is just underwhelming, i need more from the yeast here, not more of what its already bringing, there is plenty of that, more of something else. the weakest of the three beers we had in here in my opinion, but if you want a citrusy belgian type thats pretty clean, you may have a different opinion. this just seems like a cheap use of the term saison...
