A collaboration between Foamers' Folly and Fuggles & Warlock, this Wild Farmhouse Ale was fermented using 100% Brettanomyces and blended with Sauvignon Blanc grape must. Hopped with late addition Nelson Sauvin, this Wild Ale is full of complex layers of vinous gooseberry, tropical fruit, subtle Unicorn Blanket, and a balanced acidity. Pitt Meadows brewed.

Hazy yellow-straw color. Pours a very tall head; the foam took a long time to collapse. High flow of tiny bubbles from the bottom of the glass. Left large patches of lacing.

Very light sweet fruit scents with a faint horseblanket or barnyard that fades in and out. Swirling the glass kicked up a sweet white wine scent and a touch of the horseblanket (maybe it was unicorn). The dense head seems to be actively blocking much of the scent.

Much stronger flavor than I expected from the scent. Initial bitter-tart, almost acrid, chemical flavor that I couldn't place. In the same general class of flavors as the smell of fresh asphalt. There is some light fruit struggling to be noticed. A bit of an alcohol burn. The aftertaste is an immediate pulse of mint followed by the harsh bitter chemical flavor, which slowly fades down. This was very close to getting a 1 (pour it down the drain), but there is something so odd about the flavor that I wanted to continue exploring it.

Very foamy, but not creamy. Bit of an alcohol burn. Slightly oily, but with a light body.

Interesting to try, but I am sure I will never get this again. I never knew that this flavor even existed, but like soap candies, this is something that probably doesn't appeal to a broad segment of the population, including me. However my daughter liked it and called it an overall 4.
