Sampling this beer courtesy of a package from @giaps2 Thank you!!
this 500 ml bottle is marked 139/1000 bottles but no date stamp.
Pouring a cellar temp into my snifter. The beer pours a deep cola brown color with a creamy dense beige colored head of about 1.5 cm. This foam fades to a sturdy surface layer that remains throughout my sampling of the beer. Does give off some scattered lattice when I swirl the glass.
Aroma is big on the bourbon and also some molasses and roasted note. I do get a bit of tobacco and some black peppery booziness on the nose also.
First sip reveals a thinner body than expected and smooth texture with very fine and gentle carbonation. The beer drinks very easy for a bigger ABV. I do think I would enjoy it more with a little more thickness on the texture and body.
Flavor is some dark chocolate, molasses and bourbon. I again get some tobacco and a little charred wood too. Not really boozy flavor nor any warmth. Hops are also not present as far as I can detect in the beer.
Im glad to have tried this one and it is a fine beer, just wish it had a little more body.
