Another day, another Arizona lager review. Had it almost a year ago, still the first to add it to the database and write up a review.
Pours a darker yellow golden, the most familiar of all lager/beer colors. 3/5" white head, good retention, light chill haze. Again, they're touting this neutral Swiss yeast, and the story tracks, it is neutral, but that is kinda disappointing for me. I like my lagers to be like MAX POWER skunky sulphur upside ya dome. They purportedly used Mosaic as a dry hop, but that seems neutral here again too, which is a weird thing to say about the super aromatic Mosaic hop.
Taste reveals this is a little maltier than their previous lager I reviewed (Hoppy Bill or something). Just a heavier breadiness, but not problematic, still within style guidelines, still tasting good. Hopping is like a higher, American degree of Saaz, but not flirting with IPL territory or anything. Saaz hopes contribute almost everything to this beer hop wise, Mosaic almost nothing. I guess with the yeast being adverted as neutral, perhaps the Mosaic was more influential and I was attributing it to the yeast. Either way, satisfied with this beer, the sticker is still behind the Shell station or whatever they changed the name to last year.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
