It's hazy and darkly dull apricot-amber in color, as it shows through a clear glass liter mug. The entire contents of two twelve ounce cans fit comfortably inside the vessel, as there was little off-white head produced by the pours. The unmistakable smell of a wheat beer outdoes anything else for the nose, including the added orange. Like most wheat beers, the body is very thin, which perhaps is appealing to those that like them. Like the aroma, the orange is hard to detect at first, because of that particular dominating taste character of a wheat beer. Orange is there, somewhere. Maybe it's a better thing that it's subtle and it's certainly a better thing that it doesn't make this drink like a wheat beer with orange juice added. It's hard to find much to like about this, especially if you don't care for wheat beers. Only a decent bit of hops, especially noticeable at the finish, salvage this. The clique it is what it is holds true here. It's an ordinary wheat beer, with a very mild dose of orange in its taste. If that sounds appealing, it's there for you.

Picked this up recently at Gary's in Woodbridge a I never had anything from Sterling Pig before nor had I ever heard of them. This wasn't close to the best Witbier that I've had as it seemed more like a lawnmower beer than anything else - even in the middle of the holiday season!
The hue to this was hazy and orange, which didn't come as a surprise. A ton of foam topped this off, which was probably due to this beer's age more than anything else. Lots of orange and adjunct in the nose as the taste was a bit too dour because of the wheat that slowly kicked in. This was light in heft but heavy on the palate since the carbonation wasn't really there as the spice from the ginger was tough to discern as well.
Indeed, this was a session beer although one at a time would be enough for me. Born on 6/22, there wasn't any sediment in the liquid but even if this was fresh, this wouldn't be the first beer of it's type that I'd reach for. This was worth a go once to cross this brewery off of my list but somehow, this left a lot to be desired...
