Coelacanth Brewing "Naw'Meen"
$3/5 oz. on tap at the brewery on 17 June 2017
Notes: "Coconut Baltic Porter, 6.8% ABV". Clear deep mahogany brown body beneath a short head of creamy white. Aroma of coffee, caramel, and dark bread. The flavor adds fudge, some minor coconut, caramel nougat, some low level fruit (apple, fig), and a medium bitterness. Medium bodied with a median carbonation that leaves it smooth. Very nicely done!

Poured a brown body wit minimal head and lace ring around glass. Aroma is slightly coffeeish due to strong roasted malt presence, although I doubt they added coffee to this beer. Not fan of traditional Baltic porters but if you're into them, or dry, bitter beers, then you'll like this. The roasted malt presence is strong and beer is dry and bitter, bitterness overtaking everything as beer warms and I keep drinking, but there are some sweet notes to add a little balance. I tend to go for more mellow/sweeter Baltic porters but this one isn't bad.
