12oz can, canned on 02/06/18, served in a Libby globe porter glass.

Appearance: Black, with just a bit of dark cola brown at the edges. Initial light tan head upon pouring died back and left just a ring with little lacing.

Smell: Coffee, cocoa powder which suddenly reminds me of the smell of instant "Kwik" chocolate milk powder.

Taste: Reminds me of coffee ice cream, but not so sweet. Definite black coffee, sugar, and cream, with some cocoa powder / chocolate milk notes. Lightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Light carbonation with some creaminess to it from the milk sugars.

Overall / Drinkability: I bit sub par in appearance (no lacing and quickly dissipating foam for a stout), but, otherwise an easily drinkable dessert stout. This would pair excellently with cookies and many other desserts. I finished it quite quickly and would want a larger glass with the right meal/dessert. Maybe not another 12 ounces, but a 16 oz would be easily enjoyable with this beer.

L) Beer pours a dark espresso color with a light khaki head. Decent retention.

S) The nose has a clean roasty coffee note backed up by a latte like sweetness. There are some caramel macchiato like notes melding it together as well.

T) The brew tastes very similar to the nose, but it is surprisingly refreshing and dry.

F) The brew is easy to drink, a bit light for the style, and has a medium-high carbonation.

O) This was a delightful nightcap beer. I'd recommend to any coffee lover looking for an easy-drinking six pack.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a clear glass snifter. 11/20/17 on bottom of can.

A: Black with 1-finger of quickly dissipating light brown head with average retention and spotty lacing.

S: Inviting coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, and medium caramel and nougat aromas.

T: Incredibly smooth and well-executed coffee beer — balanced yet big on flavor. Caramel and figgy fruitiness leads off but is quickly overtaken by latte and mocha flavors, sporting a big milk chocolate blast and finishing with more coffee and roast without ash or acrid qualities.

M: Creamy and smooth with even carbonation and medium body.

O: I am really impressed by this first Coelecanth offering in our area. I will be looking for more of their cans coming our way!

Huge foamy, light tan head. Deep dark blackish-brown in color. Huge coffee notes on the nose and taste follows as is the aroma. A bit watery in the middle and lacking a bit if creaminess but still a very nice stout for the coffee fanatic

Poured a black body with minimal head and lace. A mild coffee aroma with bits of roasted malts and sweet malts in there as well. Balanced between mild, roasted coffee notes and hints of lactic and vanilla sweetness and finishes both sweet and dry. Somewhat simplistic but pretty enjoyable.
